Riesling is one of the highest quality white wine varieties in the world. It thrives primarily in cooler regions and has its origins in the Rhine Valley. There is evidence that Riesling has been cultivated in Germany for over 600 years - around 1/3 of global cultivation takes place here, followed by Romania, the USA and France.

The style varies greatly and can range from fresh and elegant to lively and mineral to fruity-sweet - Riesling usually has a savoury acidity and can therefore be served with a wide variety of dishes.

In addition to classic style wines, Riesling grapes are also used to produce sweet and sparkling wines.
