From the "Grand Cru" vineyard of the Carl Loewen estate "Laurentiuslay", a steep slope that was not sacrificed to land consolidation for cost reasons. The Spätlese is harvested from its own parcel high up in the first vineyard. The climate here is almost Mediterranean, allowing the grapes to fully ripen. Very juicy, mineral on the palate, with flavours of chassis, ripe green and yellow apples and an extremely elegant, intense slate spice.
Can mature very well and for a long time!
