many of us will probably remember 2003 as one of the hottest years on record. That was Thomas Pichler's first self-bottled vintage, back then as a sideline. In the meantime, he has invested in his own modern cellar and bottles around 15,000 bottles. He has just 1.5 hectares of his own vineyards, with the remaining grapes coming from his two brothers. Thomas Pichler prefers to tinker all by himself: in his barrique cellar, early in the morning in the vineyard or when designing his bottles. Everything bears his very personal signature, hence his own names. Whether it's 31/69, Was Bsunders or Echo der Erde - everything here has a deeper meaning and is created from the deepest conviction.
