The large "Pechstein" site was first mentioned in 1836, covers 15 hectares and is characterised by very mineral basalt soils. The vineyard is protected from too much rainfall by the mountains to the west, which is why the vines are deeply rooted. The black basalt stones store heat well and release it to the vines at night. The wine is delicate and full of finesse, with a slender and long-lasting flavour. Intense mineral flavours, especially flint, and fresh citrus fruit, with a good rounding of petrol and caramel as it matures.
