- Negroamaro is a robust, red grape that is ideal for growing in the hot, dry climate of Apulia , where it is one of the most popular grape varieties.

- It is mainly grown in the provinces of Lecce and Brindisi in the eastern part of the Salento peninsula, with the best wines coming from the DOC "Salice Selentino"
