Lugana is made from various Trebbiano clones, including a variety that is only used here, the so-called Turbiana. It also has a unique soil profile, as the glaciers on the southern shore of Lake Garda left behind a unique rock conglomerate millions of years ago, which gives the wines their special minerality.
