Kurtatsch - South Tyrol

Even the Selections line is characterised by strictly controlled cultivation, reduced yields and single-varietal development. The terroir wines come from the most promising vineyards with low yields.

The Kurtatsch winery generally cultivates sustainably: the greatest possible avoidance of herbicides, only organic fertilisation, complete avoidance of insecticides, soil loosening and sowing of legumes for more biodiversity, higher resistance to fungi and better grape quality. The extremely small-scale structure (most family farms have an average of only 1 hectare) enables the cooperative to work particularly flexibly and precisely.
