Griesser Hof - Valle Isarco, South Tyrol
The Griesser Hof was first mentioned in 1192 in a document from the Bishop of Brixen. In the Middle Ages, it was often the monasteries and bishoprics that cultivated, nurtured and supported viticulture - and valued wine. This was also the case for Bishop Hartmann of Brixen, who founded the Neustift monastery in Vahrn in 1142. The farmers from Griesser Hof also gave their grapes to the monastery for a long time.
paul Huber's grandparents took over the farm in 1934. Due to a reorganisation of the monastery in 2005, Paul Huber was able to buy back his treasured vineyards from the monastery and now cultivate the wine himself. Separated according to variety and vineyard, using new techniques.
