"My mum Giuliana has always made artichokes in oil! One day, one of our customers encouraged us to make and sell artichokes in oil. Until then, we had only made artichokes for family use. Since then, we have always made them according to the usual home recipes, with the usual love that Giuliana taught us. Some curiosities about the artichoke: it is a bud and not a fruit! If we don't pick it, it turns into a beautiful blue flower. The artichoke is a very old cultivated plant, introduced to Italy by the Spanish in the late 1200s. The artichoke is rich in iron and protects the liver and kidneys. It contains minerals such as calcium, potassium, phosphorus, magnesium and insulin.
