Origin: Italy, Emilia Romagna, Faenza (Ravenna), 400 metres above sea level

Producer: Rontana

Grape variety: 100% Sangiovese, dry, hand-picked

Soil: Gypsum with clay, excellent drainage due to the slope, natural vegetation, ideal microclimate: the warm Romagna sun during the day and a cool breeze in the evening

Ageing: cold maceration, fermentation and ageing in stainless steel tanks for 18 months + 18 months ageing in the bottle, deliberate avoidance of wood ageing

Intense, varietal aromas, raspberry & blackberry, chocolate, liquorice, cocoa, chilli pepper, persistent & multi-faceted on the palate

With spaghetti bolognese or lasagne
