Pinot Nero Riserva "VIGNA DAS LANGEFELD " 2019 Pfitscher Winery
Description
Pinot Nero Riserva "Vigna Das Langefeld" Alto Adige DOC 2019
Red wine
Origin: Italy, South Tyrol, Montan "Glen" 4000sqm small parcel "Das Langefeld" at 550m above sea level, facing west, planted in 1984
Winemaker: Pfitscher winery
Grape varieties: 100% Pinot Noir (Blauburgunder), dry
Soil: Clay and limestone
Vinification: This wine is the result of a careful selection process in which healthy, fully ripe grapes are hand-picked from a small harvest. This is followed by a two-day cold maceration of the grapes, most of which are not destemmed, and spontaneous fermentation for around a fortnight. After a further 12 months of maturation in barriques, the wine rests and matures first for six months in a 10 hl wooden barrel, then for 30 months in the bottle. The wine is bottled without fining or filtration.
in 1978, Klaus Pfitscher bottled his first own wine and shortly afterwards, in 1984, he planted the small Langefeld vineyard (just 4000 square metres!) with Burgundy clones. His sons Hannes and Daniel are now taking this treasure into the future for the first time with the 2019 vintage: Vigna Das Langefeld.
Optimal conditions for a great wine: expressive, complex, great elegance and depth, clear, precise forest fruit and fine smoked notes seduce the nose, finesse and velvety tannins the palate, very long-lasting
A tribute to the work of the Pfitscher family and the potential of Pinot Noir in South Tyrol.
