Winemaker: Castello di Fonterutoli, Mazzei
Grape variety: 80% Sangiovese, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon
Soil: rich, mineral soil of weathered limestone and Galestro clay
Ageing: 18 months in 225-lt French oak barrels (70% new)
Wide range of flavours, lots of fruit, cranberries and redcurrants, accompanied by balsamic notes, leather, pepper, cigars - timeless elegance
Alcohol content: 14% vol.
Info: The Concerto came onto the market in 1981 when new grape blends were experimented with, including non-indigenous ones, in order to further explore the potential of the region. It was the hour of the "Super Tuscans" and Concerto was one of the pioneers and most important representatives.
