Colomba is a traditional Italian Easter biscuit baked in the shape of a dove and has a long history and significance in Italian culture. Similar to the panettone, but a little lighter and airier, the colomba is a symbol of peace, love and hope that is enjoyed during the Easter period.
As with the Christmas panettone, Filippi uses only the best, natural ingredients and an extra-long, gentle dough process results in a wonderfully fluffy consistency.
The classic Filippi is THE colomba par excellence. Many characteristics make this product so special:
- The natural sweetness comes from the addition of Italian honey
- Australian sultanas are used
- The Washington orange peel cubes are candied in a natural way
- Only real butter, natural yeast, fresh whole milk and fresh eggs from free-range chickens are used for the natural sourdough
- Only real bourbon vanilla powder from Madagascar is used
- The entire production process is very slow, gentle and careful
The result is a delicious biscuit with a juicy, yellow colour that invites you to eat it straight away!
