Tiefenbrunner Winery - Schlosskellerei Turmhof
The Tiefenbrunner family can look back on a truly rich tradition. The Lintiklar estate was mentioned in documents as early as 1225. in 1675, the Turmhof became the property of the family, where it passed through nephews and cousins with even different names to the Tiefenbrunner family of today at the end of the 19th century. The visionary and entrepreneurial spirit at work here is demonstrated, for example, by the construction of a hydroelectric power station in 1910, which supplied the communities with electricity until 1940 (today it is a modern two-hydraulic power station that supplies the farm). At least as far-sighted was the decision in 1972 to plant a vineyard with Müller-Thurgau vines on the Fennen at an altitude of 1000 metres - a flagship to this day. Today, the family is supported by cellar master Stephan Rohregger and investments in the future are not slowing down either: the Vigna single-vineyard wine line has been available since the 2016 vintage and a new underground fermentation and barrique cellar was built in 2020.
We can't wait to see what else this dynamic family has in store for us!

Here you can find the wines of the Merus, Turmhof, Linticlarus and Vigna lines.
For Merus (Latin for pure, genuine), grapes from the lowlands are matured in concrete and steel vats; the wines stand for varietal character and natural elegance.
The Turmhof selection wines come from vineyards on slopes up to 900 metres above sea level and are aged for several months on the fine lees, which further enhances the structure and sensory capacity. Depending on the grape variety - the wines in this line are all single-varietal - they are also matured in wood.
In the Selcetion Linticlarus , Riserva wines from proven small vineyards are carefully vinified and matured in small oak barrels. This results in excellent wines with a strong character and a long shelf life.
The wines of the Selection Vigna are the pinnacle of the vineyard, in the tradition of the Grand Crus: meticulous soil care, selection of varieties according to the microclimate, yield reduction, gentle vinification. Pearls in viticulture that only exist in very small quantities!
