Buy rum

The raw material for all rum is sugar cane. This is why rum comes mainly - but not only - from the Caribbean. Sugar cane (or the molasses from it) is mashed and fermented with water and then distilled. The rum gets its characteristic golden-brown colour from the subsequent storage in different barrels.
