The Marche
The Marche is a hilly region in central Italy, where vineyards can be found among fields of wheat and maize. This charming mix gives the region a relaxed and down-to-earth feel. Not quite as famous as the neighbouring region of Tuscany, there are exciting indigenous grape varieties to discover here at a particularly good price-pleasure ratio: the white Verdicchio grape with its typical stone fruit character and the red Lacrima di Morro with notes of geranium and violets. Sounds exciting? Yes, absolutely, especially when they are made by a winemaker like Marotti Campi, who has dedicated himself entirely to these two varieties.
