L'Étranger - Project XXX IGT

Origin: Italy, South Tyrol, Kaltern, vineyard north-west of the lake, facing east at 300 metres above sea level

Producer: Kaltern Winery

Grape variety: 100% Syrah, hand-picked, dry, 30-year-old vines

Soil: Moraine soil, permeable alluvial sand, high silt content

Vinification: According to the most traditional French methods: Vinification with whole grapes in open tonneaux with daily punching down. Maceration for about 2 weeks and subsequent ageing in new barriques for 18 months. Bottling was done without stabilisation or filtration.

Côte-Rôtie made in Alto Adige: The perfect ripeness of the grapes combined with its typical spicy flavour produces this sensational Syrah: spicy, white and black pepper, red fruits, blackcurrants and sour cherries, pleasant tannins, good acid structure, with an intense, salty and very long finish
