Description
Barbera d'Asti "Bricco della Bigotta" DOCG
Origin: Italy, Piedmont, Asti, own vineyard "Rocchetta Tanaro"
Producer: Braida
Grape variety: 100% Barbera (dry)
Vinification: Maceration for 20 days on the skins, maturation for 15 months in barriques + 12 months in the bottle
Rich, intense and persistent aroma, powerful notes of liquorice, violet, plum and vanilla. On the palate, juicy red stone fruits and spices emerge, with flavours ranging from roasted coffee to stronger but well-balanced tertiary aromas. Its rich expression is due to the spices that envelop the flavour of ripe plums (the most prominent fruit), giving it a gentle and powerful note. An expressive Barbera with a full, dense body and a very straightforward structure.
Ideal with braised pork in a dark gravy.
*"La Bigotta was a pious woman who lived next to our Barbera vineyard. She was much more concerned with the rules and manifestations of religion than with the spirit behind it. We added the spirit."
