The origin of this alcoholic speciality was the fruit- or herb-flavoured wines of antiquity. Today, these spirits contain between 15 and 35% alcohol and always sugar. However, the most important thing is the flavouring ingredients: whether citrus fruits, berries, nuts or egg yolks - the possibilities are almost endless.
