Alois Lun is considered a pioneer of bottled wine production. What is taken for granted today was virtually unknown in the 19th century. With courage and perseverance, Lun ensured that his wines from the best vineyards were only marketed under his name as early as 1840. The H.Lun brand was born. That is why this significant year also adorns the wines of the 1840 line, with the cellar master - Gerhard Kofler - selecting the right sites for each grape variety in order to best reflect the corresponding South Tyrolean terroir.
The wines of the Sandbichler selection line are the pinnacle of quality. Extraordinary fullness, aroma intensity and finesse characterise the white wines, while the reds impress with their depth of extract due to appropriate maceration, extra-long maturation and therefore longevity.
We are proud to be able to offer you these wines EXCLUSIVELY in Bavaria.

The special terroir of South Tyrol
The conditions for viticulture in South Tyrol are particularly favourable: protected from cold winds by the Alps in the north, open in the south and bathed in mild air from Lake Garda and the Mediterranean. In addition, there are 300 days of sunshine and a marked temperature difference between day and night, which promotes the development of the grapes' aromas. In addition, the unique variety of soil profiles of volcanic porphyry, dolomite, limestone and marl, quartz and mica provide ideal conditions for the different grape varieties.
