Description
Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG
Red wine
Origin: Italy, Veneto, Valpolicella
Producer: Azienda Agricola Gorgo
Grape variety: Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, dry, hand-picked
Vinification: The grapes are trained on the pergola, only the best, overripe grapes are selected for production: Using the so-called appassimento method, the fruit is air-dried for at least three months on wooden grids with good ventilation, where it loses 30-40% of its weight. Pressing and vinification in January, maturation for 36 months in 50-hectolitre oak barrels, followed by 12 months of refinement in the bottle.
Tradition that inspires: this Amarone from Gorgo presents itself with great richness, complexity and elegance. A beautiful bouquet of fresh and dried black fruits, plum, blackberry, roasted Californian almond, vanilla, warm spicy notes of clove, allspice and cinnamon.
Full-bodied, full-flavoured, round and velvety, an excellent accompaniment to game and mature, intense cheeses.
