Lacrima

Lacrima di Morro d'Alba is an Italian, autochthonous red wine grape variety. It is not named after the small town of Alba in Piedmont, but after the municipality of Morro d'Alba in the province of Ancona in the Marche region. It is called Lacrima - which means tear - because the slightly permeable grape skin sometimes secretes droplets of juice in the final stage of ripening.

The flavour profile is clearly floral with hints of rose, geranium and violet, as well as spicy notes such as cinnamon and pepper. Little tannin, but good acidity make the wines pleasantly drinkable and well-structured, even when young.
