The grape variety family with light red-skinned grapes originates from the South Tyrolean village of Tramin, where it was already mentioned around 1000 AD. The Gewürztraminer variety is an easily recognisable grape variety due to its aroma. The aroma has lush notes of lychee and rose, with relatively low acidity, almost copper-coloured in the glass, often oily and full-bodied. The wine can be a wonderful aperitif when served dry or goes excellently with shellfish. The fruity version is a dream with baked desserts.
