in 1956, 22 farmers joined together to form a cooperative and named themselves "Cantina del Vermentino" in honour of the most noble grape variety here in Gallura, Sardinia. Today, the co-operative has 350 members. In addition to the white Vermentino, which is extremely popular with our customers due to its low acidity, Grenache (which is called Cannonau here) and other local grape varieties are also cultivated.
